July 27 was a day to remember at North Perry Airport: two of our students flew their first solo on the same day. Different instructors, different aircraft, one milestone that every pilot remembers for the rest of their life.
What a First Solo Means
The first solo is the moment a student pilot flies the aircraft completely alone for the first time: no instructor in the right seat, just the student, the checklist and the runway. It usually comes after weeks of intensive dual training, when the instructor is confident the student can take off, fly the pattern and land safely on their own. It is the first big proof that you are becoming a pilot.
