A Federal Aviation Administration Part 141 Program
The private pilot certificate permits the holder to act as pilot in command of a single engine airplane while carrying passengers. This program is for those who have not yet decided if flying for a career is their desire. Students who, after completing this program, decide to pursue flying as a career, may enroll in the Commercial Pilot Certification Program or the Professional Pilot Diploma Program "A" and have credit for the Private Pilot Certification Course.
Eligibility For Enrollment
The minimum legal requirement for flight training is as established by the Federal Aviation Regulation Part 61 or Part 141 approved school syllabus. However, this may not be sufficient training, in individual cases, for a student to attain private pilot proficiency. A student shall have the opportunity to progress at his/her own learning rate to complete the program in minimum time, but it is prudent for planning purposes to consider the possibility of a program in excess of minimum times. It is not unusual for students to require 5 to 10 hours additional dual instruction to graduate from the program. Any extra time will be charged at the current school rates.
The Ground School will be completed using the FAA approved Pelican Ground School or Computer Based Training system.
We are not asking for payments upfront. You will start paying for training when your visa is approved and you arrived in USA.

A Private Pilot License (PPL) is your entry point to the freedom of flight. It allows you to pilot a single-engine aircraft as the pilot-in-command, carrying passengers for recreational or personal travel. With a PPL, you can explore new destinations, experience long-distance flights, and share the joys of aviation with others.
While a PPL grants significant privileges, it does not authorize flying for commercial purposes or compensation. However, it is the essential first step toward a professional pilot career. Many aspiring aviators begin with a PPL and later obtain advanced ratings such as an instrument rating or commercial license, setting the stage for long-term success in aviation.
At Pelican Flight School in Miami, we emphasize safety, in-depth knowledge, and hands-on skills, preparing students for excellence in aircraft operations. The PPL is more than just a certificate—it is the beginning of a lifelong passion for aviation.
Before enrolling in the Private Pilot License (PPL) program at Pelican Flight School, students must meet these eligibility requirements:
Medical Certificate: Students must obtain a valid FAA third-class medical certificate to ensure fitness for flying.
Language Proficiency: The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required for compliance with aviation regulations and effective communication in flight operations.
Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 16 years old to begin the program.
Meeting the minimum requirements under FAA Part 61 or Part 141 does not always guarantee immediate readiness for the practical test. To ensure students are fully prepared, Pelican Flight School provides additional dual instruction (typically 5–10 hours) as needed, helping every student reach the highest industry standards.
By maintaining clear eligibility guidelines and offering personalized training support, Pelican Flight School ensures every student has the best opportunity to succeed in obtaining a PPL certificate.
