A Federal Aviation Administration Part 141 Program
The private pilot certificate permits the holder to act as pilot in command of a single engine airplane while carrying passengers. This program is for those who have not yet decided if flying for a career is their desire. Students who, after completing this program, decide to pursue flying as a career, may enroll in the Commercial Pilot Certification Program or the Professional Pilot Diploma Program "A" and have credit for the Private Pilot Certification Course.
Eligibility For Enrollment
The minimum legal requirement for flight training is as established by the Federal Aviation Regulation Part 61 or Part 141 approved school syllabus. However, this may not be sufficient training, in individual cases, for a student to attain private pilot proficiency. A student shall have the opportunity to progress at his/her own learning rate to complete the program in minimum time, but it is prudent for planning purposes to consider the possibility of a program in excess of minimum times. It is not unusual for students to require 5 to 10 hours additional dual instruction to graduate from the program. Any extra time will be charged at the current school rates.
The Ground School will be completed using the FAA approved Pelican Ground School or Computer Based Training system.
We are not asking for payments upfront. You will start paying for training when your visa is approved and you arrived in USA.
Becoming a certified private pilot is the first major step into the exciting world of aviation. A Private Pilot License (PPL) is more than just a certificate—it represents the freedom to operate a single-engine airplane and explore the skies with passengers. Whether you aim to fly for personal enjoyment or take the first step toward a professional aviation career, this license opens countless possibilities.
At Pelican Flight School, we deliver exceptional flight training under the rigorous standards of FAA Part 141, ensuring a streamlined and professional learning experience. Our program is tailored to help students meet regulations, gain practical aviation knowledge, and master essential maneuvers. For those considering a career in flying, the PPL forms the foundation for advancing into our Commercial Pilot Certification Program or Professional Pilot Diploma Program "A", where your progress will be credited.
Join Pelican Flight School and begin your journey toward becoming a skilled and confident pilot. Start learning today and take the first step into a world of limitless opportunities in the skies.
A Private Pilot License (PPL) is the gateway to the freedom of flying. It authorizes the holder to operate a single-engine aircraft as pilot-in-command, carrying passengers for personal travel or recreational purposes. With a PPL, you can explore new destinations, experience cross-country flights, and share the joy of aviation with others.
While the privileges of a PPL are significant, there are limitations: the license does not allow you to fly for compensation or commercial purposes. However, it remains the first and most important step in becoming a professional pilot. Many students who start with a PPL go on to pursue advanced certifications, such as instrument ratings or commercial licenses, laying the foundation for a successful aviation career.
At Pelican Flight School, we emphasize safety, knowledge, and skill, preparing students to achieve excellence in operating an aircraft. The PPL is not just a certification—it’s the beginning of a lifelong passion for learning and exploring the skies.
Before enrolling in the Private Pilot License (PPL) program at Pelican Flight School, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Medical Certificate: A valid FAA third-class medical certificate is required to ensure fitness for flying.
Language Proficiency: Students must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English to comply with aviation regulations and communicate effectively in flight operations.
Age Requirement: Students must be at least 16 years old at the start of the course.
Meeting the minimum FAA Part 61 or Part 141 requirements may not always guarantee readiness for the practical test. At Pelican Flight School, we offer additional dual instruction (5–10 hours) as needed, ensuring every student achieves the proficiency required to meet the industry's high standards.
By maintaining clear requirements and offering tailored support, Pelican Flight School ensures all students have the best opportunity to succeed in their journey toward obtaining a PPL certificate.
