Networking and knowing how to relate with people from different cultures gives that extra edge that not every pilot has the privilege to experience and learn.
Facilities Everywhere
As a Fixed-Base Operator out of North Perry Airport, we have been able to develop a cutting-edge facility, Training Devices, spacious briefing areas, library, area for self-preparation, classrooms, and a 14,000 square foot maintenance facility.
Our goal is to provide all of the tools necessary for our students to get the experience they need and ensure that our instructors can focus on teaching.
We are a Fixed-Base operator out of North Perry Airport in Hollywood, Florida which has four lit, paved runways (with the longest coming in at 3,350 feet/1,021 meters). This provides our students with multiple benefits. Logistically, we are equidistant between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL), giving our students easy access to our facility – no matter where they are coming from around the world.
Being just off the Gulf Stream, South Florida’s weather patterns are remarkably consistent with a significant amount of warning before bad weather enters the area. This gives us the ability to maximize our flight times and provides our students with a relatively controlled environment that enables them to gain experience quickly.
Students do not have to fly long distances to practice their skills. There is a large practice area just to the west of the airfield to practice maneuvers and several other airfields are within a short distance. The State of Florida is your practice area. The high density of air traffic in Florida helps students prepare for the busy world of commercial aviation. The Florida environment is a great one in which to train, as it gets a wide variety of weather. We train our students to know when it’s safe to takeoff and to how to operate in various weather conditions. This exposure helps prepare them for what they will encounter as airline pilots after their training is complete.
Located in Pembroke Pines, we are just 20 minutes away from the vibrant attractions of Miami, including South Beach, all at an affordable cost! Our Pembroke Pines location, conveniently situated near Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, provides our students with a safe and welcoming environment.
We offer housing options including school-rented apartments and houses shared with other students, starting at $750 per month for a shared room. This ensures easy access to South Florida’s world-class beaches during your downtime, with a refundable deposit of $500 required.
The gated communities come with amenities such as a gym, pool, and BBQ area. If you would like more information about these options, please feel free to reach out to us!
The local community in Miami offers students at Pelican Flight Training much more than just flight training. Known for its vibrant cultural diversity, Miami serves as a melting pot where students can immerse themselves in various traditions, cuisines, and languages. This cultural richness enhances the educational experience, providing students with opportunities to engage with different perspectives and global viewpoints.
Outdoor beauty is another hallmark of the Miami area. With year-round warm weather, students can enjoy the stunning beaches, parks, and natural reserves that surround the city. Activities such as hiking in the nearby Everglades, relaxing on the sun-kissed shores of South Beach, or participating in water sports like paddleboarding and jet skiing are readily available. These outdoor pursuits not only offer a much-needed break from studies but also promote a healthy lifestyle and foster a sense of adventure.
Recreational activities abound in Miami, from art and music festivals to sports events. Students can explore the lively arts scene in Wynwood, enjoy the iconic Art Deco architecture in South Beach, or catch a Miami Heat basketball game. This dynamic environment encourages students to build connections and friendships outside of the classroom, enriching their overall experience.
Moreover, the community support for international students is robust, with various resources available to help them acclimate. Local organizations often host events tailored for students, offering networking opportunities, cultural exchanges, and mentorship programs. This support network not only aids in personal development but also assists students in navigating their educational journey with greater ease.
By taking advantage of these local attractions, students can complement their aviation training with unforgettable experiences, ensuring that their time in Miami is both rewarding and memorable. This holistic approach to education allows students to grow not just as pilots but as well-rounded individuals, fully embracing the opportunities that Miami has to offer. Ultimately, the combination of flight training and rich community experiences prepares students for successful careers in aviation and life beyond.
